After discovering that radiation is leaking onto Canada from outer space, Doug Shields forsook his physics career and moved into an art commune in Houston. There he founded the Southmore Poetry Slam. He hitchhiked across Mexico and ended up in the Ozarks, where he writes fun poems and stories.
